USPA NEWS - Since he was appointed last 13th December, Francois Bayrou the new French Prime Minister struggled (and might be) forming a new government, to avoid a new vote of no confidence the general threat pointed by the opposition, ready for launching the motion rocket at the National Assembly, which is about to rest during Christmas vacations. The main reason is that France is facing a crisis of regime, since the dissolution of the National Assembly that occurred last June decided by the president Manuel Macron himself. Since then, several events are shaking the very fragile political unbalance of the French Parliament especially the Low Chamber, remained in uncertainty since three blocks are composing the deputies, showing no clear majority whatsoever. The equation doesn’t seem to be solved.

THE CRISIS IS POLITICAL & EVEN OF REGIME FACING A LACK OF WITHOUT A MAJORITY FOR ALL PARTIES AT NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
France has been going through a major political crisis since the dissolution of the National Assembly on June 9, 2024, followed by legislative elections that led to a parliament without a clear majority since the lower house is divided into three blocs: The Far Right (149 deputies). This instability led to the fall of the previous government of Gabriel Attal (Former Socialist then Macronist), who succeeded Elisabeth Borne (Former Socialist then Macronist), making way for Michel Barnier (Republican, Right) and the appointment of François Bayrou (Centrist, Leader of MODEM Party) to try to restore a balance

FRANCOIS BAYROU HAS EVENTUALLY FORMED HIS GOVERNMENT YET HE REMAINS UNDER SURVEILLANCE OF RN AND NFP

Prime Minister Francois Bayrou responded to journalists during a televised interview, during which he explained that he was open to discussions with the opposition. Contrary to appearances, the current Prime Minister François Bayrou is not in a situation of cohabitation with the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, because his centrist party MODEM has always contributed since 2017 to building its base of deputies of the presidential majority. In the National Assembly, today the MODEM, although with only thirty-seven (36 MP) deputies (François Bayrou's party) remains essential to the (relative) presidential majority of President Emmanuel Macron, who only has 93 Deputies (Ensemble “Together for The Republic”, Renaissance) versus the 140 (124 + 16 deputies of Eric Ciotti's ally) of RN and 189 of NFP.

Hence the insoluble equation that the National Assembly currently represents (the upper house is as much as it represents by a majority of Right-wing senators (Two hundred seats, 200 out of 348). The subject that creates tension among NFP is the pension reform that they want to see completely repealed. However, this is the only reform that will have marked the reign of Emmanuel Macron, and was to be seen as emblematic. François Bayrou refused to suspend the controversial pension reform of 2023, but said he was open to reopening discussions, which divides the political forces…/
